Improve your storytelling with guidance from Trix's editor-in-chief! A coaching session with Carly Schwartz includes a detailed edit for any article, story, or written piece you’re working on (2,000 words or less, please), followed by a face-to-face meeting to talk through feedback and go over next steps to bring your piece to the next level of polish. Carly has more than a decade of experience editing stories and mentoring both aspiring and professional writers, having worked across newsrooms like Huffington Post, schools that she founded abroad, and corporate settings like Google.
What draws you to a photographer's work? What keeps you engaged? A one-on-one session with Trix’s Creative Director Angela Altus includes: a portfolio review; guidance on how to sequence a group of images to create a cohesive series; best practices for crafting photo essay submissions; how to combat gender bias through visual storytelling; and what we look for at Trix when selecting photographers.
Angela has spent her career using the power of photography to elevate women’s voices - from the body positive portrait studio she led in New York to the Girl’s Empowerment groups she works with across Haiti.
